The process of helping people visualize, plan for, and achieve their future goals is immensely satisfying. Having a well-thought out and executed plan come to fruition, and seeing the positive impact it has on the lives of our clients and their families, is the reason we started Thrive Wealth Advisors.
I am the firm’s Chief Investment Officer with primary responsibilities for creating and managing portfolios matched to the unique needs of our clients. I have 23 years of experience overseeing the financial plans and investments for individuals, families, and non-profit organizations. I serve as chair of Thrive Wealth Advisor’s investment advisory committee, leading the firm’s investment research efforts to identify investments for inclusion in many of our client’s portfolios.
Prior to starting my second career, I served as a United States naval officer and retired after twenty years of active duty. I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration (Management) degree from Chaminade University of Honolulu and a Master of Science (Management) degree from the Naval Postgraduate School. I have been awarded the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner designation by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. Prior to co-founding Thrive Wealth Advisors (formerly Krekeler Brower Wealth Advisors) with Adron Krekeler in 2007, I was a financial advisor at Morgan Stanley for eight years. My wife Jennifer and I have been married since 1993 and have three children.
Coming from a family of teachers, I thoroughly enjoy working with clients to guide them through the process of planning, selecting, implementing, and monitoring investment solutions to help them achieve their long-term goals. Each relationship is unique and special and I take much pride in providing the very best service possible. I have been a financial advisor since 1997 first with Morgan Stanley for 10 years then joining Thrive Wealth Advisors (formerly Krekeler Brower Wealth Advisors) in 2008.
As our clientele has evolved, I have noticed a greater need to become a valued source of information on eldercare services and solutions for clients and caregivers. I hold the Certified Senior Advisor designation and help those in need navigate the often-difficult period of time taking care of their loved ones while continuing to work and raise a family.
My wife Nancy and I have been married for over thirty-three years and have three children and 2 very special cats. I enjoy reading, cooking, cycling, and am an avid summertime gardener seeking to grow the best tomatoes in northern Virginia.
CRPC conferred by College for Financial Planning.
CSA conferred by the Society of Certified Senior Advisors.
As a licensed independent investment professional with over 30 years of experience, I am devoted to educating my clients, helping them identify their financial goals and assisting them in making well-informed financial decisions. I am resolute in my commitment to help my clients reach their financial goals by providing personalized financial guidance to address their unique needs.
After receiving my Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from New York University, I went on to become licensed as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP©) in 1989. I began in the financial services industry with Smith Barney in New York and became Vice President-Investments, then moved to Prudential Securities where I was First Vice President-Investments. In 2000 I started my own independent practice and have been affiliated with Thrive Wealth Advisors since 2019, operating an office on the eastern shore of Virginia. I reside in Cape Charles with my husband, Rudy.
Serving as the Operations Manager for Thrive Wealth Advisors, I joined the firm in 2013. I am often the first point of contact when clients communicate with the branch. I facilitate client service requests, assist the advisors, and manage the branch’s day-to-day operations. By coordinating administrative procedures and maintaining interoffice processes, I provide personalized services for clients. Outside the office I enjoy spending time in nature.
I am excited to be part of Thrive Wealth Advisors and its experienced team of financial advisors. I attended Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey, receiving a B.S. in Quantitative Finance and a minor in Economics. During the summer months, I interned at the Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank and Deloitte. After graduating in 2020, I joined Deloitte full-time, working on asset-backed (ABS) and mortgage-backed securitization transactions. In this role, I advised many of the world’s largest investment banks and modeling cashflows and reviewing transaction documents for over 75 transactions involving multi-billions of dollars. After two years at Deloitte, I joined Gracie Point, a boutique firm that securitizes life insurance premium loans in the ABS market. In addition to these transactions, I managed the financing of Gracie Point’s $1 billion portfolio across multiple types of facilities with various counterparties, such as investment banks and asset managers. I am using my financial services skills, knowledge, and experience to support the firm’s investment research and portfolio management functions.
I was born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia and attended Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. I am an avid skier, traveler, and fan of Tottenham Hotspur. I currently reside in Jersey City, New Jersey.
