Medicare Testing Resource

I know we don’t like to admit it but we get older every day; my old college roommate used to say that he couldn’t wait for tomorrow because he got better looking every day.   I can’t say that is true anymore but he does look good for his age.  The other day I was sent down to the basement for some item my wife wanted and as I am wont to do occasionally I putzed around and started looking at some old photos of the family we had stored down there.  Pictures of the kids growing up and family gatherings brought fond memories back and I lost track of the time.  It is amazing how time works; it doesn’t seem to go fast enough some days and yet taken as a whole, it seems to move at an incredible speed.

With the passage of time, the kids get older; the pets get older; we get older; and our parents and loved ones get older.  Some would argue that getting older is a curse and some say it is a blessing.  Depending upon the day of the week or perhaps even the time of day I say it could be a bit of both.  Regardless of our feelings about getting older, there are certain things we need to be aware of as we age or are tasked with helping others who are at the point in their lives where that help is needed.

Navigating Medicare can be a daunting task that may lead to some anxiety.   Not knowing what tests are covered or not covered may cause some much-needed screenings to be delayed or not undertaken at all.  This could cause some preventable health issues to increase in severity unnecessarily.

We are very excited to add a new resource for you our friends and clients on our website by adding a link to the “Medicare Covered Testing” site under our Elder Care Resource Tab.   This link will send you to a site that shows which tests are covered by Medicare, necessary qualifications, test frequency and out of pocket costs.  The link can be found here: Elder Care (thrive-wa.com)

Coupled with our other resource links for Medicare Enrollment; Managing Aging with Dignity, Alzheimer’s and local Aging resources we hope to continue to be a valuable source of information for any of your questions on these topics.   Please don’t hesitate to give us a call with any questions or with suggestions on what we can add to this site to make it better.

Thanks and have a great day.
