HAPPY NEW YEAR?

Should auld acquaintance be forgot and ne’er brought to mind?”

“Auld Lang Syne” from the Robert Burns poem means “for old times’ sake.” We look back over the year and romanticize the past as we do in fairy tales. It might be best not to spend too much time there, though, because for most of us, fairy tales are not in our future.

There will be no brave Knights on trusty steeds; no rich Princesses looking to kiss a frog. You do not have any long-lost rich aunts or uncles. You have to resolve to help yourself.

Speaking of resolve, how are those New Year’s resolutions coming along? The ability to keep a resolution is directly correlated to the resolution‘s difficulty.

Safe to say most resolutions pass quickly into the night. Wispy dreams of what could have been. You know the most common ones well:

  1. Lose weight – 20 pounds or bust!
  2. Eating healthier – No more pork rinds!
  3. Working out more – Working out at all?
  4. Being nicer to your in-laws – WHY?

Fret not, for we are here to help you keep perhaps the most important resolution you can make:

Getting your “Financial House” in order!

We are aware that during the post-holiday season many avoid thinking about their financial future since it inevitably includes a credit card statement with a Christmas gift hangover. It can be a major effort just to open them. (The statements, not the gifts.)

We maintain this is the best time for a review. Clear away the wrapping paper and ribbons, throw out the broken toys, get everything out on the table, and put together a plan for the future.

Can you get to where you want to go if you do not know where you are?

A comprehensive financial plan can bring clarity to your finances and a general feeling of well-being. Take advantage of our complimentary financial review. Call or e-mail us. We are here to lend a hand just like in the song.
