The Art League presents “Art on Tap”

November 3, 2017

7:00 to 10:00 p.m.

Krekeler Brower Wealth Advisors is proud to be the Lead Sponsor!

“Double, double, toil and trouble; Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.”

The witches in Macbeth, Act 4, Scene 1.

Have you noticed all the craft breweries popping up? Seems there is a new one every day. Every bar I visit, not that I visit a lot of them, has more draft pulls than Ulysses’ trial of the bow and axes. (Look it up.) It also amazes me how many flavors are available. You can get bourbon barrel, grapefruit, blueberry, and on and on. Why so many flavors? Should we blame Burger King? “Have it your way” or Starbucks?

I grew up sneaking a sip of my dad’s Hudepohl when he was not looking.

“Fillet of a fenny snake, in the cauldron boil and bake;

Eye of newt and toe of frog, Wool of bat and tongue of dog.”

More from the witches!

Even Pabst Blue Ribbon, PBR, is back. Then there are the India Pale Ales, IPAs. I am not a fan of bitter beer. I always tell the bartender, “I like my women bitter, not my beer.” IT’S A JOKE!

Across the pond, they brew a beer as black as the hearts of those witches in Macbeth. It pours r-e-a-l slow and foams barely a bubble. It is thick enough to chew. Personally, if I cannot see through it, I do not drink it!

There have been many beer songs written. Here is one classic.

“I Like Beer” - Tom T. Hall

The Art League is a fabulous organization and deserves our support. Please check out the link above and I hope to see you there.

Back to Ulysses and the “Trial of the Bow and Axes.” Here is Kirk Douglas as Ulysses. If you have never seen Anthony Quinn’s knees, this is the movie clip to watch!

I may not be able to string a bow quite like Ulysses, but I can string together a financial plan for you like nobody’s business! Drop me a linel…..
